Just last weekend the weather was very warm – uncomfortably HUMID warm. But that didn’t stop a group of us photographers being a paparazzi to this group of young lady models. They did this for us as TFT (trade for time). Many models when they’re first starting out do this to gain public exposure to their looks and talent. These ladies sure did a fantastic job of endless poses and dress to keep everything mixed up nicely. And they did this for HOURS! And everyone had fun, especially when one of the models decides to play in the water. I hope you enjoy this snippet of the fun we all had together!
With regards to fashion, also according to Wikipedia, Steampunk fashion has no set guidelines but tends to synthesize modern styles with influences from the Victorian era. This may include bustles, corsets, gowns, and petticoats; suits with waistcoats, coats, top hats,[56]tailcoats and spats; or military-inspired garments. Steampunk-influenced outfits are usually accented with several technological and “period” accessories: timepieces, parasols, flying/driving goggles, and ray guns. Modern accessories like cell phones or music players can be found in steampunk outfits, after being modified to give them the appearance of Victorian-made objects. Post-apocalyptic elements, such as gas masks, ragged clothing and tribal motifs, can also be included. Aspects of steampunk fashion have been anticipated by mainstream high fashion, the Lolita fashion and aristocrat styles, neo-Victorianism, and the romantic goth subculture.
While I haven’t seen this fashion trend active in Bastrop, Texas, I’m sure many people here will find it as a really cool look!
I had so much fun at my latest Meetup, “Italian Riviera Shoot on Lake Travis”. The models were incredible to work with and it was held at La Villa Vista Resort in Austin. It has amazing locations to shoot, with its negative edge pool, soothing waterfalls, spectacular golden sunsets and a bit of old-world European charm.
I have gotten my fix to stimulate my creative juices while at Texas School of Photography in April 2017. I spent an entire week studying under two mentors; this year I chose Videography and studied for the week under Mitch Daniels & Billie Welliver.
Talk about experience! My goodness, between the two of them they have over 50 years experience in video production in a plethora of genres, including weddings.
Since then I’ve ordered a gimbal for the iPhone and GoPro cameras to steady the video results. I’m ready to embark on my personal experience working with this invaluable tool. I’ve also got the awesome iPhone 7 Plus on order, awaiting shipping fulfillment. I now have experienced DSLR video production using my Nikon D800 on a monopod. I selected this genre of study due to my emerging drone photography skills and will resume studying for my commercial FAA drone license – my ultimate goal to complete for 2017.

do you remember what it was like for your senior pictures?
You stood in a long line until finally you were up front when a man called out, “NEXT!”? I sure do and I got crummy cookie-cutter senior photos that aren’t worth a hill of beans!
That is not the way a high school senior should be photographed the one day in their life that should be totally dedicated to them! I mean, just think about it; even when you get married, the photographs need to cover so many other people and the details of the bride’s dress, the venue, and the families. When else can a person have a day photographed dedicated just to them and them only?
So started All About You’s specialty in high school seniors! To create that one day totally dedicated to photographing the young person before he or she heads out to college or a job away from home. The one point in a young person’s life where they make the transition from child to adult, right before your very eyes! Capturing their many moods and expression to show off their own unique personalty.
CONGRATULATIONS ALYSSA! Best wishes to you as you head off to college!
