Give More Back and Be Amazed at How Much You Get in Return!

Giving back can be a very rewarding experience! Please, find a group of persons or animals who cannot speak up for themselves. You can find volunteer opportunities so you can advocate for them. Everyone is different and that is a wonderful thing for the many groups and organizations who need our help. Anyone can help in many different ways. Facebook is wonderful for getting the Word out in educating others or for fulfilling a need.

Giving Back to Help The Elderly

Transporting the elderly to doctor appointments or visiting a nursing home to spend time with those who would enjoy even a short visit.

  • Some seniors’ health prevents them from getting out and socializing. Keep them from feeling isolated by going for a visit, bringing over a meal to share or renting their favorite movie for you to watch together.
  • Offer to run errands for those seniors who can no longer drive. Make it a weekly ritual, and let them know they can call upon you when needed. You can also bring them along as you ride around town, so they can get out of the house and visit with you at the same time.
  • Meals on Wheels is a wonderful organization. It is a gift to serve, and a rare chance to directly help individuals in your community one meal at a time. In addition to lunch time meal-delivery, there are many other ways to serve the elderly and adults with disabilities

Giving Back to Help Children

How about children? Every child HAS a chance – it’s you.® By becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate, or CASA volunteer, you can help keep abused and neglected childrensafe, giving them a chance at finding happiness. CASA volunteers are individuals from all walks of life who speak up for a child’s best interests in court. Or, simply sign up to volunteer at local schools or libraries for story time or career day.

Giving Back to Help Homeless Pets

Personally, I love all animals, especially dogs. So I volunteer weekly photography at my local animal shelter taking photos to help the animals get adopted. I also have a Facebook page where I share and cross-post pictures of those animals at risk of euthanasia. So many shelters depend on volunteers to walk their dogs and more. Transporting the pets to rescue organizations, or visiting a pet shelter to spend time with attention-starved homeless pets, who would enjoy even a short visit, are a few things you could do.

If you are a photographer or artist and want to help animals, I urge you to consider HeARTs Speak, a non-profit organization of artists helping animals. HeARTS Speak website link   Because Every Voice Matters
